At the first appointment at the practice we perform an early first ultrasound to see if there is an intact pregnancy. This first ultrasound preferably takes place between 6 and 8 weeks.
An ultrasound is performed between the 10th and 12th week of your pregnancy. Then you can see exactly how far along your pregnancy is. The estimated delivery date is then also calculated.
During both these ultrasound examinations, a sonographer uses an ultrasound machine to check whether the child has any physical abnormalities. The sonographer also checks the amniotic fluid, the placenta and the growth of the child. The sonographer has to disclose everything that can be seen.
From twelve weeks and three days up to and including fourteen weeks and three days.
From week 18 to week 21 of the pregnancy.
The growth ultrasounds assess the growth of the baby as accurately as possible and are scheduled between 28 and 36 weeks.
