The delivery
Between 37 and 42 weeks of pregnancy, you may give birth under the supervision of the obstetrician. This is 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after the due date. Most deliveries take place during this period. If you give birth outside this period, you will be accompanied during the delivery in the hospital under the supervision of the gynaecologist.
What can you do?
- Find reliable information about childbirth and read the brochures about childbirth on our website.
- Visit an information evening at the hospital.
- Follow a pregnancy course.
- Practice breathing techniques.
- Organise someone who can offer continuous support.
- Discuss how and where you want to give birth in a birth plan.
When you are around 30 weeks pregnant, we will discuss your birth plan with you, and you can also ask us questions about the delivery. You will receive information about the delivery.
